About Me

Vera Kotlyar, functional nutrition dietitian

I am a Registered Dietitian with specialized training as an Integrative and Functional Nutrition Certified Practitioner (IFNCP). Before founding my own practice, I gained four years of valuable clinical experience. I earned my graduate degree from Meredith College and pursued advanced training in integrative and functional nutrition through the Integrative and Functional Nutrition Academy. But this was just the beginning—I am continually deepening my understanding of the intricate connections within human biology, always striving to refine my approach to health and healing.

My journey with food began long before I pursued a degree in this field. I struggled with finding balance, often swinging between restriction and overindulgence—caught in an internal conflict and unhealthy relationship with food without a clear solution.

By integrating a holistic approach to healing—one that addresses the emotional, physical, and mental aspects of well-being—I discovered the key to finding piece with food. My personal health journey led me to ask deeper questions, ones that conventional medicine couldn't fully answer, ultimately guiding me toward functional nutrition and a more comprehensive path to healing.

I firmly believe in the healing power of nature, the transformative role of food as medicine, and the importance of addressing root causes to achieve lasting results. Functional nutrition and medicine align perfectly with these values, allowing me to support individuals in their healing journeys so they can thrive and experience their best selves.
